Product Introduction
Megesta 160 Tablet contains the active substance Megestrol. It belongs to a category of medicines known as progestogens and is mainly used to treat certain hormone-dependent cancers such as breast cancer. It is a synthetic form of the naturally occurring progesterone hormone. Megesta is also commonly prescribed for weight gain management to address unexplained weight loss, cachexia, weakness, and loss of appetite in patients with cancer or weakened immune systems. Progestogens like Megesta are used in patients whose disease has progressed despite conventional anti-oestrogen therapy. Before starting treatment, your physician will assess the oestrogen receptor status to confirm that the breast cancer is oestrogen receptor positive. Megesta 160 Tablet is offered at an accessible price point to support treatment access. Alternative formulations may be suitable based on your treatment requirements, and your doctor will determine the most appropriate option for your clinical needs.
