Product Introduction
Merofit Plus 1.5gm Injection is an antibiotic medication containing two active ingredients: Meropenem and Sulbactam. It belongs to the carbapenem antibiotic class and is used to treat various bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms. It is indicated for pneumonia, urinary tract infections, intra-abdominal infections, gynaecological infections, skin infections, meningitis, and sepsis. This medicine works by preventing bacteria from forming their protective cell wall, which is essential for their survival. Sulbactam inhibits bacterial enzymes that can inactivate Meropenem. Meropenem may be used to manage febrile neutropenic patients with suspected bacterial infection.
Do not use Merofit Plus 1.5gm Injection if you are allergic to Meropenem, Sulbactam, Penicillins, Cephalosporins, Carbapenems, or any ingredient in the medication. Before receiving this injection, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Notify your doctor before treatment if you have liver or kidney problems or have experienced severe diarrhoea following other antibiotics. Common side effects include headache, abdominal pain, nausea, elevated platelet count, and diarrhoea. Inform your doctor of any pre-existing medical conditions before starting treatment. Advise your doctor if you follow a salt-restricted diet. During treatment, a positive Coombs test may occur, indicating the presence of antibodies that may affect red blood cells; your doctor may recommend blood tests to monitor blood cell count and kidney function.

How it works

Expert Tips
Inform your doctor if you're taking valproic acid along with Merofit Plus 1.5gm Injection. This combination might decrease valproic acid's effectiveness. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your valproic acid dose or explore alternative treatments. In case you experience signs of severe skin reactions, promptly notify your doctor or nurse for appropriate treatment. Inform your doctor if you are on a sodium diet, as this medicine contains Sodium. Before starting the treatment, inform your doctor about all the underlying medical conditions. Notify your doctor if you experience any serious side effects after taking Merofit Plus 1.5gm Injection. Contact your doctor for more information. It is highly advised not to skip the dose schedules as it may decrease the drug's effectiveness and increase the chance of bacteria developing resistance. It is generally suggested to complete the full treatment schedule as your doctor prescribes.
