Product Introduction
Meroject 1gm injection is a carbapenem antibiotic containing meropenem. It is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms, including skin, lung, urinary, and gynaecological infections. This injection is also used for the prevention of surgical site infections.
Meroject 1gm injection is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity or allergic reactions to beta-lactam antibiotics, including penicillins or cephalosporins. Patients who have experienced severe diarrhoea following previous antibiotic use should inform their physician before starting treatment.
Meroject 1gm injection may reduce serum concentrations of valproic acid, a medication used in the treatment of seizures and certain psychiatric conditions. This reduction can lead to decreased effectiveness of valproic acid. Patients taking valproic acid may require dose adjustment or consideration of alternative treatments by their healthcare provider.
Before commencing Meroject 1gm injection, patients should inform their physician of any pre-existing medical conditions, including epilepsy, kidney or liver problems, or adherence to a salt-controlled diet. During treatment, the doctor may recommend blood tests to monitor blood cell count and kidney function. Patients who suspect pregnancy or plan to conceive should inform their doctor of all current medications, including herbal products and supplements.

Expert Tips
Overuse or misuse of antibiotics can contribute to the development of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. It is important to use this drug only as prescribed and directed by your physician. Attend any scheduled follow-up appointments with your healthcare provider to monitor your improvement and discuss any doubts or queries you may have regarding your treatment with Meroject 1gm injection. While this drug is generally well-tolerated, it can cause side effects in some individuals. If you get serious side effects, like severe diarrhea, rash, or difficulty breathing, notify your doctor immediately. It is highly advised not to skip the dose schedules as it may decrease the drug's effectiveness and increase the chance of bacteria developing resistance. It is generally suggested to complete the full treatment schedule as your doctor prescribes.
