Product Introduction
Mertabto 10mg Tablet is a prescription anti-cancer medicine containing Mercaptopurine as its active ingredient. It belongs to the purine antagonists group of medicines and is used for managing acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL). ALL is a fast-growing blood cancer in which the bone marrow produces excessive immature white blood cells (lymphoblasts), disrupting normal blood function.
Before starting this treatment, inform your doctor if you have liver disease, kidney problems, or known intolerance to dairy products. This tablet contains lactose, and patients with lactose intolerance should use it with caution.
Your doctor will monitor your liver enzymes, uric acid levels, and complete blood count regularly during treatment to detect side effects or complications. Elevated uric acid can strain the kidneys, and dose adjustments may be necessary.
Avoid vaccinations during this treatment unless specifically advised by your doctor. Live vaccines including measles, mumps, rubella, and yellow fever can cause serious infections in patients receiving immunosuppressive therapy. Inform your doctor before receiving any vaccine.
