Product Introduction
Mestrolyst 80mg Tablet contains megestrol, a progestogen used in the treatment of hormone-dependent breast cancer. Megestrol is a synthetic progestin derived from the naturally occurring progesterone hormone. The medication is also indicated for the management of unexplained weight loss, cachexia and anorexia in patients with compromised immune systems and cancer. Progestogens are used in patients whose disease has progressed despite conventional anti-estrogen therapy. Your physician will assess oestrogen receptor (ER) status to confirm that your breast cancer expresses the oestrogen receptor.

How it works
Mestrolyst 80mg Tablet exhibits anticancer properties by interacting with steroidal receptors. It suppresses steroid production by the adrenal glands and androgen secretion by the ovaries in postmenopausal women. It also prevents the breakdown of cytokines and stimulates appetite in chronic disease-induced anorexia and cachexia.
