Product Introduction

Micropenam 250mg Injection is a carbapenem antibiotic containing Meropenem as its active ingredient. It is indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms, including those affecting the skin, lungs, urinary tract, and gynaecological system. The injection is also used for the prevention of surgical site infections.

The medication is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergic reactions to other beta-lactam antibiotics, including penicillins or cephalosporins. Patients who have experienced severe diarrhoea following previous antibiotic use should inform their physician prior to treatment.

Micropenam 250mg Injection may reduce serum concentrations of valproic acid, a medication used to treat seizures and certain mental health conditions, potentially leading to decreased effectiveness of valproic acid. If patients are taking valproic acid, their healthcare provider may need to adjust the dose or consider alternative treatments.

Before starting treatment with Micropenam 250mg Injection, patients should inform their physician of any pre-existing medical conditions, including epilepsy, kidney or liver problems, or if they are following a salt-controlled diet. During treatment, doctors may recommend blood tests to monitor blood cell count and kidney function.

Patients who suspect pregnancy or plan to conceive should inform their doctor about all medications they have been taking recently, including herbal and supplement preparations.

While this drug is generally well-tolerated, it can cause side effects in some individuals. If you get serious side effects, like severe diarrhea, rash, or difficulty breathing, notify your doctor immediately. It is highly advised not to skip the dose schedules as it may decrease the drug's effectiveness and increase the chance of bacteria developing resistance. It is generally suggested to complete the full treatment schedule as your doctor prescribes.
