It is used together with other chemotherapy medicines to treat acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) in adults with FLT3 gene mutations. Acute myeloid leukaemia is a cancer originating in myeloid cells, a type of white blood cell, where the body produces these cells abnormally in excess. The medicine is also used in adults for aggressive systemic mastocytosis (ASM), systemic mastocytosis with associated haematological neoplasm (SM-AHN), or mast cell leukaemia (MCL).
Do not take Midostar 25mg capsule if you are allergic to midostaurin or any other ingredient in this medicine.
