Product Introduction
Mirena 20mcg/24H packet contains Levonorgestrel, a synthetic progestin used as an emergency contraceptive. It may be used within 72 hours of unprotected sexual intercourse or if your usual contraceptive method has failed. This medicine is not suitable for use before the first menstrual bleeding or in young women under 16 years of age. Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you suspect pregnancy, as the medicine will not be effective if you are already pregnant. These tablets do not terminate pregnancy and are not abortion pills. Signs suggesting possible pregnancy include a period more than 5 days overdue, unusual bleeding when your expected period is due, or unprotected sexual intercourse more than 72 hours since your last period. Your doctor may recommend an alternative emergency contraceptive if appropriate.
Do not use this medicine if you have Crohn's disease or another condition affecting drug absorption in the small bowel, severe liver disease, a history of ectopic pregnancy, or a previous occurrence of salpingitis. Do not use Mirena 20mcg/24H packet if you are allergic to Levonorgestrel or any ingredient in the formulation. Inform your doctor before taking this medicine if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, suspect you may be pregnant, or are breastfeeding. Notify your doctor if you have lactose intolerance or intolerance to any sugar molecules.
If you have taken this medicine and plan to have sexual intercourse without using the contraceptive pill, use condoms or a diaphragm plus spermicide until your next menstrual period. These tablets will not be effective if you have unprotected sexual intercourse again before your next period.

Expert Tips
This medicine doesn't safeguard against sexually transmitted diseases; only condoms offer such protection. Consult your doctor, nurse, or family planning for guidance. Reserve Mirena 20mcg/24H packet tablets for emergencies, not regular contraception. Using them more than once in a menstrual cycle can disrupt your period, possibly affecting ovulation timing. This can alter fertility dates, though long-term fertility data are unavailable. Follow your doctor's recommendations closely throughout the process. If you experience any concerning symptoms or side effects, be sure to inform your healthcare provider immediately. Contact your doctor for more information.
