Product Introduction
Mucomix 400mg injection is an antidote containing the active ingredient Acetylcysteine. It belongs to the mucolytics agent medication class. It is used to treat paracetamol overdose by protecting the liver from damage caused by elevated paracetamol levels. The medicine provides optimal effectiveness when administered within the first eight hours following paracetamol overdose. Although efficacy may diminish over time, treatment within 24 hours of overdose can still provide benefit. Your doctor may conduct a blood test before initiating treatment to assess paracetamol levels in the blood. Do not use Mucomix 400mg if you are allergic to Acetylcysteine or other ingredients in the formulation. Before beginning treatment, inform your doctor if you have asthma or breathing difficulties, are pregnant, or are breastfeeding. Notify your doctor if you have recently received this injection, experienced an adverse reaction to this medicine, or follow a sodium-restricted diet, as this medicine contains sodium. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Discuss any fertility concerns with your doctor. The administered volume should be adjusted for patients weighing less than 40kg and for individuals requiring fluid restriction.
