Product Introduction
Mycept S 180mg Tablet is a prescription immunosuppressant containing Mycophenolate Sodium, an inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH) inhibitor. It is commonly prescribed to help prevent organ rejection in patients who have undergone kidney, heart, or liver transplantation. This medicine works by suppressing the immune system, reducing the body's immune response to protect the transplanted organ.
Mycept S 180mg Tablet is generally used in combination with other immunosuppressive medicines as part of a long-term post-transplant treatment plan. Due to its potential to cause birth defects and miscarriage, it is not recommended during pregnancy unless no safer alternative is available and the expected benefits outweigh the possible risks. Women of childbearing potential should use effective contraception during treatment to avoid pregnancy. Live vaccines should be avoided while taking this medicine because they may be less effective and increase the risk of infection. Patients should also not donate blood during treatment and for at least six weeks after discontinuation to ensure the medicine has been completely eliminated from the body. Do not use Mycept S 180mg Tablet if you are allergic to Mycophenolate Sodium or any of its ingredients. Inform your doctor before starting treatment if you have liver disease, heart disease, or other underlying medical conditions. As this medicine weakens the body's immune system, it may increase the risk of skin cancer, so limiting exposure to sunlight and ultraviolet (UV) rays and using appropriate sun protection is advised. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience unusual bruising, persistent fever, unexplained tiredness, dizziness, yellowing of the skin or eyes, vision problems, reduced urine output, or seizures while taking this medicine. Mycept S 180mg Tablet is also not recommended during breastfeeding, as it may pass into breast milk and affect the baby's developing immune system. Always take this medication exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider for safe and effective treatment.
Uses

How it works
Mycept S 180mg tablet works by inhibiting the enzyme inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH) and reducing the production of guanosine nucleotides. MMF specifically affects the proliferation of activated T and B lymphocytes. These lymphocytes are key players in the immune response that can lead to the rejection of a transplanted organ.
How to Use
It is an orally available prescription drug. Your physician will decide the dose and duration of the treatment based on your disease condition, severity, and other factors. Always take Mycept S 180mg tablet as prescribed by your doctor. Do not open, crush, break, or chew the medicine. Take the medicine at the same time every day as advised by your doctor.

It is necessary to take the prescribed dose exactly as instructed by your doctor. Inform your doctor about all the medications (prescription, over-the-counter, and herbal) you are taking, as they can interact with this drug. If you plan to conceive or suspect you might be pregnant while taking Mycept S 180mg tablet, it is important to consult your doctor immediately. They may suggest switching to alternative medications that are safer during pregnancy or adjusting your treatment plan.
