Product Introduction
Mycograft 360mg tablet is an immunosuppressant containing mycophenolate sodium, an inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH) inhibitor. It is used to prevent organ rejection in patients who have received an organ transplant, including kidney, heart, or liver transplantation. The medicine is prescribed as part of combination therapy with other immunosuppressive drugs.
This tablet is contraindicated during pregnancy due to the risk of birth defects and miscarriage. It should not be used in pregnant women unless no suitable alternatives exist and potential benefits outweigh risks. Female patients of reproductive age are advised to use effective contraception while taking this medication to prevent pregnancy.
Live vaccines should not be administered to patients taking Mycograft 360mg tablet, as vaccine effectiveness is reduced and infection risk increases. Individuals on this medicine should not donate blood during treatment and for at least six weeks after stopping treatment, ensuring adequate clearance of the medication from the body before blood donation.
Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to mycophenolate sodium or any other ingredients. Inform your doctor if you have liver or heart disease before starting treatment. As this drug reduces immune defences, the risk of skin cancer increases. Patients must take precautions to limit exposure to sunlight and ultraviolet light.
Seek immediate medical attention if you develop bruising under the skin, fever, unexplained tiredness, dizziness, yellowing of the skin or eyes, vision impairment, reduced urine output, or seizures after taking this medicine.
Mycograft 360mg tablet is an immunosuppressive medication that may affect the infant's developing immune system and should be avoided during breastfeeding.
Uses
Prevent organ transplant rejections.
How it works
Mycograft 360mg tablet works by inhibiting the enzyme inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH) and reducing the production of guanosine nucleotides. MMF specifically affects the proliferation of activated T and B lymphocytes. These lymphocytes are key players in the immune response that can lead to the rejection of a transplanted organ.
How to Use
It is an orally available prescription drug. Your physician will decide the dose and duration of the treatment based on your disease condition, severity, and other factors. Always take Mycograft 360mg tablet as prescribed by your doctor. Do not open, crush, break, or chew the medicine. Take the medicine at the same time every day as advised by your doctor.
Side Effects
Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all drugs cause side effects, not everyone gets them. Serious Infections, fever, or sore throat Unusual bleeding or bruising Low blood cell count Severe allergic reactions Common Higher risk of developing lymphoma and other cancers Nausea, abdominal pain Diarrhea Constipation Loss of appetite Shortness of breath Weight loss Increased heartbeat Headache Blood pressure problem Anaemia
Expert Tips
It is necessary to take the prescribed dose exactly as instructed by your doctor. Inform your doctor about all the medications (prescription, over-the-counter, and herbal) you are taking, as they can interact with this drug. If you plan to conceive or suspect you might be pregnant while taking Mycograft 360mg tablet, it is important to consult your doctor immediately. They may suggest switching to alternative medications that are safer during pregnancy or adjusting your treatment plan.
