Product Introduction

Mylimus 0.1% ointment 20gm contains tacrolimus, an immunosuppressant belonging to the class of calcineurin inhibitors. It is indicated for moderate to severe atopic dermatitis in adults who are unable to use alternative medications or whose dermatitis has not responded to other treatments. The medication works by suppressing immune system production of substances involved in eczema development.

Do not use Mylimus 0.1% ointment 20gm if you are allergic to tacrolimus or any other ingredient in this medicine. Inform your doctor if you are allergic to any antibiotic group. Disclose to your physician any history of liver failure, skin disorders, skin cancer, or immunosuppression.

Notify your doctor immediately if you experience fever, petechiae (bruising under the skin appearing as red dots), unexplained fatigue, confusion, jaundice (yellowing of skin or eyes), reduced urine output, vision loss, or seizures following use of this medicine.

Minimise exposure to sunlight and ultraviolet light while using Mylimus 0.1% ointment 20gm by wearing protective clothing and applying sunscreen with high sun protection factor. This precaution is necessary due to the potential risk of malignant skin changes with immunosuppressive therapy.

Do not apply this ointment to infected lesions or areas with active infection. Monitor your skin carefully and contact your physician immediately if you notice any change in skin appearance.

This medicine is not approved for use in children under 16 years of age.

Uses

Moderate to severe atopic dermatitis (eczema)

How it works

Mylimus 0.1% ointment 20gm provides immunosuppression by inhibiting T-lymphocyte activation and proliferation and T-helper-cell-dependent B-cell response. It works by attaching to a protein called FKBP-12 and forms a complex called tacrolimus-FKBP, which inhibits the action of calcineurin phosphatase. This, in turn, inhibits the formation of T cells and suppresses the immune response.
