Product Introduction
Myltega Tablet is an antiviral medicine belonging to the Integrase strand transfer inhibitor class, containing the active ingredient Dolutegravir. It is indicated for the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. HIV infection is primarily transmitted through sexual contact with a person who has the infection or through exposure to infected blood, such as by sharing injection needles. This medicine must be taken alongside other antiretroviral medicines used to treat HIV infection. This drug is contraindicated in patients with liver disease. Due to higher drug concentration in such cases, caution is advised when administering this medicine to patients with liver impairment. Your doctor may need to adjust the dosage of this medicine or use it with additional monitoring in these patients to ensure safety and efficacy. During early stages of HIV treatment, some patients may develop an inflammatory response to opportunistic infections. This condition, known as immune reconstitution syndrome, can occur after starting this drug or other antiretroviral therapies. Awareness of this possibility and monitoring for signs of worsening infections or inflammatory symptoms is necessary. Inform your healthcare provider if symptoms concern you or persist longer than expected. Healthcare professionals must carefully monitor patients taking this medicine for any signs or symptoms of skin or hypersensitivity reactions, including rash, blistering, or mucosal lesions. If a severe reaction is suspected, this medicine should be stopped immediately and appropriate medical treatment initiated. Patients are advised to report any skin or hypersensitivity reactions to their healthcare provider and to seek emergency medical care immediately if they experience symptoms of a severe reaction. Inform your doctor immediately of all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal products and supplements, before beginning this medicine.

Expert Tips
To prevent the spread of HIV infection, avoid sharing needles or syringes, which can transmit HIV-1 infections easily. It's necessary for individuals who use injectable drugs to use sterile needles and syringes and never share them with others. Personal items like toothbrushes, razor blades, or anything with body fluids or blood should also be avoided. They should not be shared because HIV-1 can be present in blood and certain body fluids, and sharing these items could mainly transmit the virus.
