Product Introduction

Natflu 75mg Capsule is an antiviral medication containing Oseltamivir Phosphate, used to treat influenza symptoms in adults, adolescents, children, and neonates who have had flu for no more than two days. It is also used as preventive treatment for flu in patients 1 year and older. This medication prevents the flu virus from spreading throughout the body and helps to ease or prevent symptoms of flu virus infection.

Influenza is a viral infection. Flu symptoms include high temperature (above 37.8°C), cough, runny or congested nose, headaches, muscle aches, and excessive fatigue.

Do not take this medication if you are allergic to Oseltamivir or any other ingredients in it. Inform your physician before starting treatment if you have or have ever had fever or infection, kidney problems, heart problems, weak immune system, or respiratory problems. Inform your doctor if you experience changes in mood or behaviour, especially in children and adolescents.

Common side effects of Natflu 75mg Capsule include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, and abdominal pain.

The medicine must be used cautiously in patients with kidney failure as dose adjustment is necessary. Inform your physician if you have kidney problems.

Even if you feel better, do not miss any doses and complete the entire course of treatment. Stopping the medicine too early may result in infection recurrence or failure to protect you from flu.

Uses

Natflu 75mg Capsule is an oral capsule used to treat Influenza A and B in patients two weeks of age and older who do not have symptoms for more than 2 days It also prevents influenza type A and B in patients 1 year and older.

How it works

Natflu 75mg Capsule is a pro-drug that gets converted into its active form (Oseltamivir carboxylate) inside the body. It is a neuraminidase inhibitor used in the treatment and prophylaxis of influenza. It works by inhibiting the neuraminidase enzyme present on the surface of the virus. This enzyme is essential for the virus to enter the healthy cells and release newly formed virus particles from infected cells, thereby spreading the infectious virus throughout the body. Natflu 75mg Capsule reduces viral shedding and infectivity.

How to Use

Natflu 75mg Capsule is a prescription oral capsule. The dose and frequency of administration will be decided by your doctor based on your disease condition and other factors. Take medicine as directed by your physician. Swallow the capsule as a whole with water. Do not break, chew or crush the capsule. Take it with or without food. The chances of stomach upset are less if you take this capsule with food. For patients who face difficulty in swallowing the capsule, the oral suspension is prescribed. The recommended dose is based on the individual’s body weight. It is important to complete the whole course, even if you start to feel better quickly.
