Product Introduction
Nefdapa 10mg Tablet is an antidiabetic medication belonging to the sodium-glucose cotransport-2 (SGLT-2) inhibitor class, with Dapagliflozin as its active ingredient. It is indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in patients aged 18 years and above. Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder marked by elevated blood glucose levels (hyperglycemia). This medication is also approved for treating heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) in adults, where it helps alleviate symptoms and reduce hospitalisation risk associated with heart failure. The primary mechanism involves controlling elevated blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. Treatment should always be combined with dietary modification and physical activity. When blood sugar remains elevated and inadequately controlled, your doctor may prescribe this medicine alongside other antidiabetic agents. Do not use Nefdapa 10mg Tablet if you are hypersensitive to Dapagliflozin or any other component of the formulation. Inform your doctor if you develop urinary tract infections, as this medication may increase their occurrence. This medicine is contraindicated in children and adolescents below 18 years of age. Your doctor will assess kidney function at least annually, or at more frequent intervals, during treatment with this medicine. Should you experience nausea, vomiting, fever, or inability to eat or drink while taking Nefdapa 10mg Tablet, notify your doctor promptly. These conditions can precipitate dehydration, and your doctor may recommend temporary discontinuation until recovery is achieved. Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) may occur with this drug even when blood glucose levels remain within normal range. If symptoms suggestive of DKA develop, contact your doctor immediately or proceed to the nearest hospital without delay.
