Product Introduction

Neocuron 4mg injection contains pancuronium, a skeletal muscle relaxant administered as an adjuvant to general anaesthesia in preparation for surgery. The medication maintains immobility by relaxing skeletal muscles during surgical procedures and facilitates throat relaxation to ease endotracheal intubation before surgery. This muscle relaxant is used across all age groups, including adults, adolescents (2–17 years), newborns, and infants (0 days–23 months). It is also employed to support emergency airway management and mechanical ventilation in intensive care patients.

Before receiving neocuron 4mg injection, inform your healthcare team of the following: prior allergies to pancuronium or other muscle relaxants, reduced renal function or renal disease, heart or circulatory conditions, fluid accumulation, liver or gallbladder issues, oedema (swelling of ankles), or diseases affecting nerves and muscles such as polio, myasthenia gravis, or Eaton-Lambert syndrome. Clear communication regarding your medical history is essential for safe and effective treatment planning.

How it works

When your nerves want your muscles to move, they release a messenger called acetylcholine. This acetylcholine fits into special receptors on your muscle cells, triggering the muscles to contract. When neocuron 4mg is present, it blocks this messenger, preventing the muscles from receiving the signal to contract and keeping them relaxed.

How to Use

This medicine is given only in a hospital setup by a healthcare provider. Neocuron 4mg injection will be given to you by your doctor. It is given intravenously (into a vein), either as single injections or as a continuous infusion (a drip). While receiving neocuron 4mg, your doctor will continuously monitor you to assess its impact. It's important to note that this injection induces muscle relaxation, including your breathing muscles. This means you will require assistance with breathing (artificial ventilation) during and after your surgery until you can resume breathing independently. If you have any concerns or questions, always communicate them with your doctor before taking this medication. Your safety and comfort are our priorities.
