Neoprate Injection

Neoprate Injection is an anticonvulsant medication belonging to the class of sodium channel modulators. It contains the active ingredient sodium valproate. It is used to treat epilepsy, including various seizure types and epilepsy syndromes. Epilepsy is a neurological disorder characterised by recurrent and unpredictable seizures. Seizures are episodes of abnormal electrical activity in the brain that can result in a range of symptoms, including loss of consciousness, muscle spasms, convulsions, altered sensations, or changes in behaviour. It may also be prescribed for neurological conditions such as bipolar disorder and migraines.

Do not use Neoprate Injection if you are allergic to sodium valproate or any other ingredients in this medicine. Neoprate Injection should be avoided in individuals with a rare condition called porphyria, which affects the breakdown of components of red blood cells, a history of severe liver problems, urea cycle disorder, or mitochondrial disorder such as Alpers-Huttenlocher syndrome.

Before initiating treatment, inform your physician if you have diabetes, kidney problems, brain disease, systemic lupus erythematosus, or carnitine palmitoyltransferase type II deficiency. In these cases, discussing your medical history and conditions with your physician is necessary to ensure safe and effective use of this injection.

If you are a woman who can become pregnant and are taking Neoprate Injection, use an effective method of birth control throughout your entire treatment with this medication.

Treatment of epilepsy/seizures

Neoprate Injection works by increasing the neurotransmitter levels called gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in the brain. GABA helps to calm nerve activity and reduce the likelihood of seizures or mood swings.

Neoprate Injection will be given to you by a doctor or other healthcare professional. It will be given as an intravenous injection (into a vein). It can also be given as an infusion through a drip into a vein. Your healthcare provider will decide the dose, route of administration, and duration of the treatment based on your health condition and other factors. Do not self-administer the medicine.
