Product Introduction

Neosunate 60mg injection contains artesunate as its active component. The medication is primarily indicated for treating malaria, particularly severe cases caused by Plasmodium falciparum, a parasite capable of causing life-threatening complications. It is also used as part of artemisinin-based combination therapies (ACTs) for uncomplicated Plasmodium falciparum malaria. The medication may be used for malaria prevention in areas where the disease is endemic and drug resistance is not a concern. Some studies have indicated potential use as an adjunct treatment for certain cancer types. This medication may modulate immune response and reduce inflammation in conditions including rheumatoid arthritis and inflammatory bowel disease.

Neosunate 60mg injection is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity or allergy to artesunate or artemisinin derivatives. It should not be used in patients with known G6PD deficiency. Cautious use under healthcare professional supervision is necessary in patients with certain medical conditions, including liver disease or a history of epilepsy. Administration to paediatric patients requires healthcare provider consultation. Older adults taking multiple medications face increased risk of drug interactions; healthcare provider consultation is recommended before using Neosunate 60mg injection in this population.

Uses

Neosunate 60mg injection is used in the following: Malaria treatment Malaria prevention (in specific cases)

How it works

Neosunate 60mg injection, an antimalarial medication, disrupts the malaria parasite's metabolism within red blood cells. It increases the levels of toxic-free heme, which damages the parasite's cellular components. This disruption leads to oxidative stress and cellular damage, ultimately causing the death of the malaria parasite.

How to Use

Neosunate 60mg injection can be administered through intravenous (IV) for rapid action in severe cases, and intramuscular (IM) as an alternative injection method. The choice depends on the patient's condition and instructions by the health care provider.
