Product Introduction

Nephtor 40mg Tablet contains torasemide, a loop diuretic that reduces excess fluid in the body. It is used to treat oedema resulting from fluid overload in patients with heart failure, liver disease, and kidney disease. The medication also helps manage high blood pressure. Dosage is determined by your condition and individual response, and should be taken as advised by your doctor. Taking the tablet approximately 4 hours before bed may help reduce nocturnal urination. Consistent daily timing improves effectiveness.

Common side effects include headache, tiredness, dizziness, stomach upset, dehydration, and decreased blood pressure. Do not discontinue this medication without medical guidance, as abrupt cessation may worsen your condition.

Before starting Nephtor 40mg Tablet, inform your doctor of any history of kidney or liver disease. Provide a complete list of all current medications. If you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding, discuss this with your doctor, as torasemide may cause harm to a developing child or congenital abnormalities. Since the medication reduces potassium levels, dietary potassium supplementation may be necessary. Regular monitoring of kidney function tests and electrolyte levels is essential.

Lifestyle modifications—including regular exercise, stress reduction, smoking cessation, and limiting alcohol consumption—support treatment effectiveness. Taking this medication when you are well, combined with these changes, optimises outcomes.
