Product Introduction
Netocta LAR 30mg Injection contains octreotide, a synthetic compound derived from somatostatin, which occurs naturally in the human body and inhibits the effects of certain hormones, including growth hormone. It is primarily used to reduce excess growth hormone in patients with acromegaly, particularly when surgery, radiation, or other medications are unsuitable. This medicine is also prescribed for tumours, including carcinoid tumours (which can cause diarrhea and flushing) and vasoactive intestinal peptide-secreting adenomas in the pancreas. Additionally, it helps prevent complications following pancreatic surgery and is used to control bleeding or prevent re-bleeding from ruptured gastro-esophageal varices in patients with chronic liver disease. Netocta LAR 30mg injection is also indicated for treating pituitary tumours producing excess thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) when other treatments are ineffective or during the interim period following radiotherapy. The active ingredient in Netocta LAR 30mg is octreotide.

How it works
Netocta lar 30mg injection acetate, a cyclic octapeptide agent, inhibits growth hormone, glucagon, and insulin more effectively than the natural hormone somatostatin. The drug also reduces growth hormone and IGF-I (somatomedin C) in acromegaly, inhibits gallbladder contractions, reduces bile secretion, and suppresses thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) secretion.
