Nexesa 200mcg Injection

Nexesa 200mcg injection contains the active ingredient Darbepoetin Alfa, an antineoplastic drug belonging to the class of hematopoietic growth factors. It is indicated to treat anemia (lower than normal RBC count) in patients with chronic kidney disease. It is also used to treat anemia caused by chemotherapy in patients with certain types of cancer. Symptoms of anemia include fatigue, weakness, and shortness of breath.

Do not use Nexesa 200mcg injection if you are allergic to Darbepoetin Alfa or any other ingredients in the formulation, or if you have uncontrolled blood pressure.

Inform your doctor if you have high blood pressure, anemia, a history of seizures, epilepsy, liver disease, or allergy to latex or hepatitis C. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Seek immediate medical advice if you experience severe headache, dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, problems with eyesight, nausea, vomiting, or seizures after receiving Nexesa 200mcg injection.

The most commonly reported side effects are hypertension, shortness of breath, swelling in the legs, and cough.

Nexesa 200mcg injection is an erythropoiesis-stimulating protein produced by recombinant DNA technology. It is closely related to erythropoietin and stimulates erythropoiesis by the same mechanism, and both agents bind to progenitor stem cells stimulating the production/differentiation of red blood cells. It works by causing the bone marrow to make more red blood cells.

This injection is to be given under the skin (subcutaneous). Your doctor, nurse, or other healthcare professional will train you on how to inject yourself with this pre-filled pen. Do not try to inject the pre-filled pen if you are not well-trained. Never inject the medicine into your vein. If you need help to inject the medicine, visit the nearby hospital or clinic.
