Product Introduction

Noxafil 40mg Syrup is an azole antifungal containing posaconazole. It is indicated for the treatment and prevention of certain fungal infections. The medication is commonly prescribed to prevent and treat invasive fungal infections in patients with compromised immune systems, including those undergoing cancer chemotherapy, stem cell transplantation, or those with HIV/AIDS. It is also used to treat certain fungal infections in patients who cannot tolerate or have not responded to other antifungal treatments.

Noxafil 40mg Syrup is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity or allergy to other azole antifungal medications such as ketoconazole, fluconazole, itraconazole, or voriconazole.

Before commencing Noxafil 40mg Syrup, inform your doctor if you have certain cardiac conditions including abnormal heart rhythm (prolonged QTc interval), ventricular dysfunction, heart failure, or any arrhythmia. Similarly, if you develop severe renal impairment, diarrhoea, or vomiting during treatment with this drug, notify your physician immediately, as these conditions may affect the medicine's effectiveness.

Noxafil 40mg Syrup may alter blood levels of potassium, magnesium, or calcium. Patients with electrolyte abnormalities will require close monitoring during treatment. If you are taking vinca alkaloid chemotherapy agents such as vincristine or vinblastine, inform your doctor prior to initiating treatment.

Use during pregnancy should be based on medical advice. Breastfeeding is not recommended with this medication, as posaconazole passes into breast milk and may affect the nursing infant.
