Product Introduction

O2DG Sachet 2.34gm, manufactured by Dr. Reddy's, contains the active ingredient 2-Deoxy-D-Glucose. 2-Deoxy-D-Glucose sachet is a glucose molecule in which the 2-hydroxyl group is replaced by hydrogen. O2DG is used as an adjunct therapy to treat moderate to severe COVID-19. The drug accumulates in virus-infected cells and prevents viral growth by stopping viral synthesis and energy production. Its selective accumulation in virally-infected cells distinguishes this drug.

Healthcare professionals have noted its effectiveness in reducing recovery time and oxygen dependency in hospitalized patients with COVID-19. Do not take this medication if you are allergic to 2-Deoxy-D-Glucose or any other ingredients. Inform your physician if you have liver problems or kidney disease before starting treatment. Notify your doctor if you have received any other medications for COVID-19. This medicine is intended for individuals aged 18 years and above only. Blood sugar monitoring is important during O2DG sachet treatment; your healthcare provider will evaluate blood glucose levels if you have diabetes. Potential side effects include increased blood sugar levels, GI bleeding, and QTc prolongation. O2DG Sachet pricing varies by location and pharmacy availability. You may purchase O2DG Sachet online from authorized pharmacies with a valid prescription. Substitute options for O2DG may be limited as this is a specialised COVID-19 treatment. This medication should be used only on the advice of a doctor, following careful instructions for proper administration and monitoring.

Uses

O2DG Sachet uses are Moderate to severe COVID-19 in hospitalised patients

How it works

O2DG Sachet 2.34gm is a medicine that resembles glucose structurally and is used to kill the virus causing Covid-19. The virus utilizes glucose to produce energy, which it uses to make copies of itself. Once given, the medicine is readily absorbed by the ‘virus-infected cells’ as the virus takes it up just like glucose. On reaching the infected cells, the medicine stops energy production, inhibits further virus multiplication, and kills it. This helps in clearing the infection, even if it has spread to the lungs, and reduces the requirement for supplemental oxygen in moderate to severely infected Covid-19 patients.

Side Effects

Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all drugs cause side effects, not everyone gets them. O2DG Sachet side effects are Serious Increased blood sugar levels QTc prolongation GI bleeding
