Product Introduction

Olabuzz 150mg Tablet is a PARP (poly [adenosine diphosphate-ribose] polymerase inhibitor) inhibitor containing olaparib, used in the treatment of pancreatic and prostate cancer. The medication may be administered as monotherapy or in combination with other anticancer agents.

Do not take olaparib if you are allergic to the active ingredient or other components of the formulation. Contact your doctor immediately if you develop breathlessness, chest pain, rapid heart rate, fever, cough, or wheezing.

Blood tests will be conducted before initiation of treatment and monthly during therapy, as this medicine may reduce red blood cell, white blood cell, and platelet counts. Inform your healthcare provider prior to starting treatment if you have a history of lung, liver, heart, or kidney disease.

This medication is not recommended during pregnancy as it may cause fetal harm and miscarriage. Women of reproductive potential should undergo pregnancy testing before commencing treatment. Continued use of contraception for at least six months after completion of treatment is advisable.

Breastfeeding is not advised during treatment as it is unknown whether olaparib is excreted into breast milk. Men should not donate sperm for at least three months following completion of treatment.

Inform your doctor of all medicines you are taking, including prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs, vitamins, and supplements.

How it works

Olabuzz 150mg Tablet works by inhibiting the enzyme poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP), which plays a role in repairing damaged DNA in cells. By inhibiting PARP, Olabuzz 150mg Tablet prevents cancer cells from repairing their DNA, leading to cell death. This targeted approach is especially effective in cancers with defective DNA repair mechanisms.

How to Use

The medicine will be prescribed to you by a healthcare professional in a hospital setting. Olabuzz 150mg Tablet is available as a tablet to be taken with or without food, as directed by your healthcare provider. The dose will be decided by your healthcare professional based on your conditions. Avoid crushing, opening, or dissolving the tablet and swallow it whole with a glass of water.
