Product Introduction
Orcefo SB 3gm Injection contains two active ingredients: Cefoperazone, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic, and Sulbactam, a beta-lactamase inhibitor. This combination is effective against a broad spectrum of bacteria and is used to treat serious infections including urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, intra-abdominal infections, septicaemia, meningitis, skin infections, bone infections, and endometritis.
Orcefo SB 3gm Injection is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity or allergy to it or any of its components. Inform your doctor if you have allergies to any antibiotic group. Consumption of alcohol—including alcoholic beverages, alcohol-containing medications, mouthwashes, or food preparations—during and up to five days after administration of Orcefo SB 3gm Injection may cause a disulfiram-like reaction characterised by flushing, sweating, headache, and increased heart rate. Alcohol should be avoided during this period.
Notify your doctor if you develop severe or bloody stools while taking Orcefo SB 3gm Injection. Before commencing treatment, inform your doctor if you have liver disorders, bowel diseases, or clotting disorders. This medicine should be used only when necessary during pregnancy. As this medicine passes poorly into breast milk, caution should be exercised during breastfeeding. Consult your physician for further guidance.

How it works
Orcefo SB 3gm Injection is an antibiotic that works by interfering with bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to the destruction of the bacteria. Sulbactam, the beta-lactamase inhibitor, helps inactivate the beta-lactamase enzymes produced by certain bacteria. These enzymes prevent the breakdown of cefoperazone, enhancing its effectiveness against resistant bacteria.
How to Use
Do not self-administer the Orcefo SB 3gm Injection. Your doctor will decide the duration and dose of your treatment based on the disease severity and other factors. It will be given as an intravenous infusion or intramuscular Injection, and you will be monitored carefully for unwanted side effects.
