P-Tax 100mg Injection is a chemotherapy medication containing the active constituent paclitaxel. It is used to treat breast cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, ovarian cancer, and AIDS (Acquired Immuno-Deficiency Syndrome). Cancer is a condition in which cells are dividing and growing fast and in an uncontrolled manner. This medicine is not recommended for adolescents and children under the age of 18. P-Tax 100mg Injection may be given alone or in combination with other anticancer medicines. This chemotherapy medication is contraindicated in patients with severe liver problems, uncontrolled infection, and low white blood cell or platelet count. Patients with heart disorders should inform their doctor before taking this medicine. Administration of this medicine may cause serious allergic reactions. Effective birth control should be used during treatment and for at least six months after the last dose. P-Tax 100mg Injection may be harmful to patients with alcoholism as this medicine contains alcohol.

P-Tax 100mg Injection inhibits the microtubule structures present in the cell. Microtubule structures help cancer cells to divide and multiply. Inhibition of these structures slows the growth of cancer cells.

Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all medicines cause side effects, not everyone gets them. Serious: Serious allergic reactions (rash, swelling of face, lips, throat, or tongue, trouble breathing, and swallowing) Severe diarrhea Severe stomach pain Common: Anemia, feeling tired Hair loss Burning, tingling, or numbness in your feet or hands Muscle and joint pain Vomiting, nausea Mouth or lip sores Infections Swelling of hands, feet, and face Bleeding Irritation at the injection site Low blood pressure

Inform the doctor if the patient is allergic to this medication, liver, heart conditions and other medication taken for different medical conditions before taking this medicine. Liver, blood pressure, blood count should be monitored while taking this medication. Don't take this medication if the patient is planning for pregnancy or during pregnancy and in breast feeding mothers as it causes harmful effects on developing babies. Avoid driving and handling heavy machinery after taking this medication as it can affect the concentration and alertness.
