P-Tax 260mg Injection is a chemotherapy medication containing paclitaxel as the active ingredient. It is indicated for the treatment of breast cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, ovarian cancer, and AIDS-related conditions. Cancer is characterised by rapid and uncontrolled cell division and growth. This medicine is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years of age. P-Tax 260mg Injection may be administered as monotherapy or in combination with other anticancer medicines. This chemotherapy medication is contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic impairment, uncontrolled infection, and low white blood cell count or thrombocytopenia. Inform your doctor if you have a history of cardiac disorders prior to commencing this medicine. Administration of this medicine may precipitate serious hypersensitivity reactions. Effective contraception should be used during treatment and for at least six months following the final dose. P-Tax 260mg Injection may be harmful to patients with alcoholism, as this formulation contains alcohol.

P-Tax 260mg Injection inhibits the microtubule structures present in the cell. Microtubule structures help cancer cells to divide and multiply. Inhibition of these structures slows the growth of cancer cells.

Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all medicines cause side effects, not everyone gets them. Serious: Serious allergic reactions (rash, swelling of face, lips, throat, or tongue, trouble breathing, and swallowing) Severe diarrhea Severe stomach pain Common: Anemia, feeling tired Hair loss Burning, tingling, or numbness in your feet or hands Muscle and joint pain Vomiting, nausea Mouth or lip sores Infections Swelling of hands, feet, and face Bleeding Irritation at the injection site Low blood pressure

Inform the doctor if the patient is allergic to this medication, liver, heart conditions and other medication taken for different medical conditions before taking this medicine. Liver, blood pressure, blood count should be monitored while taking this medication. Don't take this medication if the patient is planning for pregnancy or during pregnancy and in breast feeding mothers as it causes harmful effects on developing babies. Avoid driving and handling heavy machinery after taking this medication as it can affect the concentration and alertness.
