Product Introduction
Padcev 20mg Injection contains Enfortumab vedotin, an advanced antineoplastic drug from the class of antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs). It is used in the treatment of locally advanced or metastatic urothelial cancer—a type of bladder cancer—in adults who have already received PD-1 or PD-L1 inhibitors and platinum-based chemotherapy. Padcev works by targeting a protein called Nectin-4, which is expressed in high levels in urothelial cancer cells. The drug delivers a cell-killing substance called monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE) directly into cancer cells. Once inside, MMAE disrupts the cancer cell's internal architecture, leading to cell death. This targeted approach reduces exposure to healthy cells compared to conventional treatments. Padcev is not approved for patients under 18 years of age. The Padcev 20mg injection dosage is determined by the treating physician based on body weight and treatment cycles. Padcev combined with Keytruda has demonstrated improved outcomes in clinical trials for certain advanced bladder cancers. Padcev is not classified as chemotherapy or immunotherapy—it is a targeted therapy with a distinct mechanism of action. Response rates vary depending on cancer stage and concurrent therapies. Like all potent anticancer medications, Padcev adverse effects can include fatigue, rash, hyperglycemia, peripheral neuropathy, and neutropenia.
Uses
Padcev 20mg Injection is used in the treatment of the following: Locally advanced or metastatic urothelial cancer in adult patients who have previously received a PD-1 or PD-L1 inhibitor and platinum-containing chemotherapy.
How it works
Padcev Injection works by targeting Nectin-4 on cancer cells and delivering monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE), a cytotoxic agent. Once inside the cancer cells, MMAE interferes with the microtubule network, causing cell cycle arrest and triggering cell death (apoptosis). This targeted mechanism enables the selective destruction of cancer cells while minimizing harm to healthy tissues.
