Product Introduction
PAN 40mg Injection contains Pantoprazole as its active ingredient. It is indicated for the treatment of reflux oesophagitis (inflammation of the oesophagus caused by acid reflux from the stomach), gastric ulcers, and duodenal ulcers. It is also used in the management of Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome (a condition in which tumours form in the pancreas or duodenum, resulting in excessive production of gastric acid).
Inform your physician if you have severe hepatic impairment, are taking atazanavir (an antiretroviral agent used in HIV infection), or are scheduled to undergo chromogranin A blood testing. Prolonged exposure to gastric acid can cause oesophageal damage, potentially leading to Barrett's oesophagus, which may increase the risk of oesophageal cancer. By decreasing the quantity of acid in the stomach, PAN 40mg Injection helps prevent such damage.
PAN 40mg Injection is not recommended for paediatric patients and adolescents under 18 years of age. Extended use of this medicine may result in decreased magnesium levels in the blood. This may manifest as fatigue, convulsions, tachycardia, or involuntary muscle contractions. Notify your physician if you experience any of these symptoms.
