Product Introduction
Pegcyte 6mg Injection contains the active ingredient pegfilgrastim. It belongs to the granulocyte colony stimulating factor class and is approved to reduce the risk of febrile neutropenia (fever or infection occurring with low white blood cell count) and shorten the duration of neutropenia (low white blood cell count) in patients receiving bone-marrow suppressive chemotherapy. It is also indicated to increase survival in patients with exposure to radiation therapy that causes severe and life-threatening bone marrow damage. The medication acts on blood-forming cells, stimulating cell multiplication and cell function activation. Pegfilgrastim is a protein synthesised through biotechnology using E. coli bacteria. It belongs to the cytokine family of proteins and closely resembles a natural protein (granulocyte-colony stimulating factor) produced by the body. White blood cells are essential because they help the body fight infection. These cells are highly sensitive to chemotherapy effects, which may decrease their numbers. When white blood cell count decreases, the body may lack sufficient cells to combat bacteria, increasing infection risk. Inform your physician if you have or have had liver disease, fever or infection, kidney problems, heart problems, or a family history of kidney diseases before beginning treatment with this injection. Do not use this injection if you are allergic to pegfilgrastim, filgrastim, or any other ingredients in this injection. Report symptoms of left upper abdominal pain, shoulder pain, and respiratory problems immediately to your doctor. The most common side effects of Pegcyte 6mg injection are pain in the bones, arms, and legs.
