Pegihep 100mcg Injection is an antineoplastic medicine in the interferon class, containing Pegylated Interferon Alpha-2B. It is indicated for chronic hepatitis C infection in patients aged 18 years and above with compensated liver disease. Hepatitis C is a viral infection affecting the liver, transmitted through contact with infected blood, sharing of needles or injection equipment, and less commonly through sexual contact, sharing of personal hygiene items, or from mother to infant during childbirth.

Use this medicine with caution in patients with creatinine clearance below 50 mL/min, indicating moderate to severe renal impairment. Reduced renal clearance may increase medication accumulation and risk of toxicity and adverse effects. Dosage reduction is necessary in these patients, who require close monitoring for signs of toxicity including fatigue, depression, or decreased white blood cell count. Dose adjustment is mandatory in patients with renal impairment.

Inform your healthcare provider before starting treatment if you are pregnant or planning pregnancy. This drug may cause harm to an unborn baby.
