Product Introduction

Pempro 500mg Injection contains Pemetrexed, an antifolate chemotherapy medicine used to treat non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and malignant pleural mesothelioma. It may be administered alone or in combination with other anticancer medicines, such as cisplatin, depending on the type and stage of cancer. To reduce the risk of treatment-related side effects, your doctor may prescribe folic acid, vitamin B12, and corticosteroids before and during therapy. Regular blood tests are performed before each infusion to monitor kidney and liver function and ensure adequate blood cell counts.

Before receiving Pempro 500mg Injection, inform your doctor if you have kidney disease, heart disorders, fluid around the lungs, or if you have recently undergone radiotherapy or received any vaccinations. Tell your healthcare provider if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or think you may be pregnant, as this medicine may harm an unborn baby. Effective contraception should be used during treatment and for at least six months after the final dose. Men should avoid fathering a child during treatment and for three months after completing therapy and should discuss fertility preservation with their doctor if required. Pempro 500mg Injection is not recommended for children or adolescents under 18 years of age and should only be administered under the supervision of an oncology specialist.

Uses

Malignant pleural mesothelioma Non-small cell lung carcinoma

How it works

Pempro 500mg inhibits the mechanism required for cell division and replication by blocking specific enzymes involved in folate metabolism (essential for cell replication) and DNA synthesis, which will prevent the cancer cells from growing and multiplying.

How to Use

Pempro 500mg injection is administered as an intravenous infusion into the vein. If this injection is recommended for you, it will be given by a healthcare professional. Do not self-administer.
