Product Introduction
Phoscut 400mg Tablet contains Sevelamer as its active ingredient. It is a phosphate binder used to manage hyperphosphatemia (elevated blood phosphate levels) in adult patients undergoing dialysis (haemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis) and patients with chronic kidney disease who have elevated serum phosphorus levels. It should be used alongside other treatments, such as calcium supplements and vitamin D, to help prevent bone disease. High blood phosphorus levels can lead to calcification, in which hard deposits form and stiffen blood vessels, compromising blood flow.
Do not use Phoscut 400mg Tablet if you are allergic to Sevelamer or any ingredient in the medication. Avoid this medicine if you have low phosphate levels or bowel obstruction.
Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding. Notify your doctor if you have difficulty swallowing or if your stomach and bowel have problems moving food. Also inform your doctor if you currently have bowel inflammation or have undergone major stomach or bowel surgery.
Phoscut 400mg Tablet is not recommended for children under six years of age due to insufficient studies on its safety and effectiveness in this age group.
If your doctor has advised you about a sugar intolerance, consult your doctor before taking this medication, as it contains lactose.
