Product Introduction
Piptaz 4.5gm injection contains two active ingredients: piperacillin and tazobactam, which are broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotics and beta-lactamase inhibitors. Piperacillin with tazobactam is used to eliminate many types of harmful bacteria. When piperacillin is combined with tazobactam, it demonstrates enhanced effectiveness against certain resistant bacteria. This medicine treats bacterial infections of the lower respiratory tract, urinary tract, abdomen, skin, and blood in adults and adolescents. Piptaz 4.5gm injection also treats bacterial infections in children aged 2–12 years, particularly abdominal infections such as appendicitis, peritonitis, and gallbladder infections. Additionally, it is used in patients with low white blood cell counts and those with weaker immune systems. In serious infections, doctors may use it alongside other antibiotics to combat pathogens effectively. This medicine should not be used in children under 2 years of age because sufficient safety and efficacy data are not available for this age group. Do not use Piptaz 4.5gm injection if you are allergic to piperacillin, tazobactam, penicillins, cephalosporins, other beta-lactamase inhibitors, or any ingredient in this formulation. Before taking this medicine, notify your doctor if you have low potassium levels, liver or kidney issues, or are undergoing haemodialysis, as monitoring may be required. Your doctor may conduct regular blood tests during treatment. If you are taking anticoagulants or experience unexpected bleeding, inform your healthcare professional immediately. Notify your healthcare professional if you develop convulsions or suspect a new or worsening infection during treatment. Be aware of haemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, a condition involving excessive white blood cell production, and contact your doctor immediately if you experience fever, swollen glands, weakness, lightheadedness, shortness of breath, bruising, or skin rash. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
