Product Introduction
Pirfenidone, the active ingredient in Pirfenair tablet, belongs to the transforming growth factor inhibitors class. It is used in the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), a lung disorder characterised by scarring and inflammation of lung tissues, leading to breathing difficulties.
Do not use this medicine if you have severe liver or kidney disorders, if you are taking fluvoxamine (used to treat depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder), or if you are allergic to any ingredient in this medicine. Avoid consuming grapefruit juice during treatment with this medicine.
Gastrointestinal disorders and elevation in liver enzymes may occur. Should these develop, temporary dose reduction or discontinuation may be necessary. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience dark or brown urine, unusual bruising, bleeding, or jaundice.
This medicine is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Smoking may reduce the efficacy of Pirfenair tablet and should be avoided. Minimise exposure to sunlight, including sunlamps. Apply sunscreen daily and wear protective clothing covering your head, legs, and arms to reduce sunlight exposure.

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis
How it works
Pirfenair tablet works to reduce the production and accumulation of extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins, which contribute to the fibrosis and stiffening of lung tissue. This helps to slow the progression of the disease and improve lung function.
How to Use
Take Pirfenair tablet in a dose and duration prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the tablets whole with water. Take the tablet after a meal at the same time each day to reduce the side effects. Do not crush or chew the tablets. Do not drink grapefruit juice while taking this medication.
Side Effects
Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all medicines cause side effects, not everyone gets them. Expert Tips
If you experience any symptoms mentioned as a side effect, consult your doctor immediately. Abnormalities, such as dark or brown urine, bruises, bleeding than usual, or jaundice, must be notified immediately to your doctor. Avoid smoking while taking Pirfenair tablet because it may reduce the effectiveness of the medicine. Avoid exposure to sunlight, including sunlamps. Use sunscreen daily and cover your head, legs, and arms to reduce exposure to sunlight. Before starting the treatment, it is recommended to perform a liver function test.

Lungs: Consult your doctor Consult your doctor if you experience any upper respiratory tract infection while taking Pirfenair tablet.
Breastfeeding: unsafe It is not recommended while taking Pirfenair tablet. Because the medicine can pass into breast milk, potentially harming a nursing infant. Consult the doctor for more information.
