Pirfesca Gel 30gm

Pirfesca Gel 30gm is a transforming growth factor inhibitor containing the active ingredient Pirfenidone. It is indicated for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), a lung disorder characterised by scarring and inflammation of lung tissue that results in breathing difficulties.

Do not use this medicine if you have severe liver disorders or severe kidney disorders, if you are taking fluvoxamine (used to treat depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder), or if you are allergic to any ingredient in this formulation. Avoid grapefruit juice during treatment with this medicine.

This medicine may cause gastrointestinal disorders and elevation in liver enzymes. Should these occur, temporary dose reduction or discontinuation may be necessary.

Contact your doctor immediately if you experience dark or brown urine, bruising, bleeding more than usual, or jaundice.

This medicine is not recommended for patients under 18 years of age.

Smoking may reduce the efficacy of Pirfesca Gel 30gm and should be avoided. Avoid exposure to sunlight, including sunlamps. Apply sunscreen daily and cover your head, legs, and arms to minimise sunlight exposure.

Pirfesca Gel 30gm works to reduce the production and accumulation of extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins, which contribute to the fibrosis and stiffening of lung tissue. This helps to slow the progression of the disease and improve lung function.

Take Pirfesca Gel 30gm in a dose and duration prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the tablets whole with water. Take the tablet after a meal at the same time each day to reduce the side effects. Do not crush or chew the tablets. Do not drink grapefruit juice while taking this medication.

Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all medicines cause side effects, not everyone gets them. Serious side effects of Pirfesca Gel 30gm are: Severe allergic reactions (swelling of face, lips, or tongue, wheezing, feeling faint) Liver problems (yellowing of skin or eyes, dark urine, bruising, or bleeding) Common side effects of Pirfesca Gel 30gm are: Nausea, vomiting Loss of appetite, tiredness Diarrhea, indigestion Headache, dizziness Skin reactions after exposure to sunlight Infections Weight loss Difficulty sleeping Changes in taste Cough Stomach pain, constipation, feeling bloated, heartburn Itchy, dry skin Muscle pain, joint pain Chest pain, shortness of breath

If you experience any symptoms mentioned as a side effect, consult your doctor immediately. Abnormalities, such as dark or brown urine, bruises, bleeding than usual, or jaundice, must be notified immediately to your doctor. Avoid smoking while taking Pirfesca Gel 30gm because it may reduce the effectiveness of the medicine. Avoid exposure to sunlight, including sunlamps. Use sunscreen daily and cover your head, legs, and arms to reduce exposure to sunlight. Before starting the treatment, it is recommended to perform a liver function test.
