Product Introduction
Pirfetab 267mg tablet is a transforming growth factor inhibitor containing the active ingredient Pirfenidone. It is indicated for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), a lung disorder characterised by scarring and inflammation of lung tissue that leads to breathing difficulties.
This medicine should not be used in patients with severe liver disorders or severe kidney disorders, in patients taking fluvoxamine (used to treat depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder), or in patients with known allergy to any ingredient of this medicine. Avoid grapefruit juice during treatment with this medicine.
Gastrointestinal disturbances and elevation of liver enzymes may occur. Should these develop, temporary dose reduction or discontinuation may be necessary. Contact your doctor immediately if you develop dark or brown urine, unusual bruising, unusual bleeding, or jaundice.
This medicine is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
Smoking may reduce the efficacy of Pirfetab 267mg tablet and should be avoided. Minimise exposure to sunlight, including sunlamps. Apply sunscreen daily and wear protective clothing covering the head, legs, and arms to reduce sun exposure.

How it works
