Plasmahep 100IU injection 0.5ml contains the active ingredient human hepatitis B immunoglobulin, which belongs to the class of antiviral agents. It is used in adults and children to provide protection against hepatitis B virus, typically administered alongside hepatitis B vaccine. Hepatitis B virus causes liver damage and progressively impairs liver function. This medicine may also be administered to newborn babies whose mothers have hepatitis B virus infection. Do not use this injection if you are allergic to hepatitis B immunoglobulin or any other ingredient in the formulation. The vaccine is ordinarily administered following exposure to infection or when previous hepatitis B vaccination has not provided adequate protection. It is also given to patients undergoing kidney dialysis (whilst awaiting hepatitis B vaccination to become fully effective). Notify your doctor if you have IgA deficiency, high blood pressure, diabetes, have recently received any vaccinations, or are planning to receive any vaccination, particularly MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) vaccine and Varicella (chickenpox) vaccine.
