Product Introduction

Pletoz 50mg Tablet contains Cilostazol as its active component. It is used to improve symptoms of intermittent claudication, a condition characterised by pain, cramping, numbness, or weakness in the legs that occurs during exercise and is relieved by rest. This medication works by widening the arteries that supply blood to the legs, thereby improving blood flow and reducing symptoms of intermittent claudication. It helps improve symptoms and increase the distance that patients with this condition can walk without experiencing pain or discomfort. It is used to treat peripheral arterial disease (PAD) and reduce thrombosis risk. Patients who have a known hypersensitivity or allergy to Pletoz 50mg Tablet or any of its components should not take this medication. It should not be used in patients with congestive heart failure of any severity. It should not be used in patients with bleeding disorders or those at increased risk of bleeding, as it can further increase the risk of bleeding due to its mechanism of action. It may affect heart rhythm, so it should be used cautiously in patients with certain pre-existing heart rhythm disorders. Use Pletoz 50mg Tablet with caution in older adults, as they may be more susceptible to the medication's side effects. Close monitoring is recommended, especially for any signs of bleeding or heart-related issues. It has not been studied extensively in children, and its safety and efficacy in paediatric populations have not been established. Therefore, its use in children is generally not recommended.

Uses

Pletoz 50mg Tablet is used in the following: Intermittent Claudication Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) Thrombosis risk reduction.

How it works

Pletoz 50mg Tablet is a selective phosphodiesterase III (PDE3) inhibitor in various cells, mainly in platelets. Inhibiting PDE3 increases intracellular cAMP (cyclic adenosine monophosphate) levels in platelets and vascular smooth muscle cells. Increased cAMP levels lead to decreased intracellular calcium concentrations, inhibiting platelet aggregation and vasodilation. This dual antiplatelet and vasodilatory effect helps improve blood flow, reduce thrombus formation, and alleviate symptoms associated with peripheral arterial disease and intermittent claudication.

How to Use

Pletoz 50mg Tablet is administered orally in the form of tablets. It is taken orally with or without food, as directed by a healthcare professional. The recommended starting dosage and any necessary dose adjustments are determined based on the specific condition being treated and the patient's response to the medication.
