Product Introduction

PMX 1MIU Injection contains the active ingredient colistimethate sodium. It is an antibiotic that belongs to the polymyxin group of medications. The medicine may be administered as an inhalation to treat chronic chest infections in patients with cystic fibrosis, especially when infections are caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Do not use PMX 1MIU Injection if you are allergic to colistimethate sodium, colistin, or other polymers in the medication. Inform your doctor if you have kidney problems or if you suffer from myasthenia gravis (weakness in skeletal muscles), porphyria (a group of disorders caused by over-accumulation of porphyrin, which aids haemoglobin, the protein that carries oxygen in the blood), or asthma. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant during treatment.

Serious allergic reactions can occur even with the first dose of PMX 1MIU Injection in some patients. These can include rapid development of rashes, swelling of the face, tongue, and neck, and difficulty breathing. You should seek urgent medical attention if you experience signs of an allergic reaction. Do not discontinue your treatment early without consulting your doctor. Your doctor will determine the appropriate duration of your treatment.
