Pomyelo 4mg Capsule

Pomyelo 4mg Capsule is a chemotherapy medicine containing pomalidomide as its active ingredient. It belongs to the class of immunomodulatory agents and is indicated for the treatment of multiple myeloma in adults. Multiple myeloma is a type of cancer affecting plasma cells, a variety of white blood cell, which proliferate uncontrollably and accumulate in the bone marrow, leading to bone and kidney damage.

Common side effects associated with Pomyelo 4mg Capsule include shortness of breath, tiredness, weakness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation, back and bone pain, dizziness, tremor, upper respiratory tract infection, sleep disturbance, loss of appetite, lack of energy, muscle spasms, muscle weakness, numbness, tingling or burning sensation, low potassium levels in the blood, and anaemia. Inform your doctor if these side effects cause concern or persist.

Inform your medical professional if you have an allergy to Pomyelo 4mg Capsule or any of its ingredients. Disclose to your doctor if you have high cholesterol levels, heart disorders, breathing problems, blood clotting disorders, hepatitis B infection, neuropathy (pain in the hands or feet caused by nerve damage), or if you smoke before commencing this chemotherapy medicine.

This medication is not recommended for adolescents and children under 18 years of age.

Treatment of Multiple myeloma.

Pomyelo 4mg Capsule works by stimulating the immune system to attack the cancer cells, stopping the formation of blood vessels supplying the cancer cells, and preventing the growth of cancer cells (myeloma cells).

Always take Pomyelo 4mg Capsule exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Take this medicine with or without food. Swallow the Capsule as a whole with water. Do not crush or chew the Capsule.

Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all medicines cause side effects, not everyone gets them. Serious: Low white blood cells Bleeding or bruising Severe or bloody diarrhea Blood clots (chest or leg pain, swelling) Severe liver problems (yellowing of skin or eyes, dark-brow color urine, abdominal Pain) Severe allergic reactions (swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat, difficulty breathing) Common: Shortness of breath Tiredness, weakness Nausea, vomiting Dizziness, tremor Low potassium level in the blood (hypokalaemia) Back pain, bone pain Diarrhea, constipation Upper respiratory tract infection High blood sugar levels Loss of appetite, lack of energy Trouble sleeping Muscle spasms, muscle weakness Numbness, tingling, or burning sensation in the skin, Pain in hands or feet Anemia

It is recommended to take effective birth control for at least 4 weeks before beginning treatment, during treatment, and at least 4 weeks after stopping Pomyelo 4mg Capsule treatment. Women who are pregnant or suspect they may be pregnant should not use this medication. Handle this medication with disposable gloves since it may come into contact with the skin. Do not share Pomyelo 4mg Capsule with others even if they have the same symptoms as you have, since it may cause birth defects and other serious problems. It is advised to refrain from donating blood or sperm both during treatment and for seven days after treatment with this drug.
