Product Introduction

Posid 100mg Injection is an anticancer drug containing Etoposide. It is a cytostatic medication used to treat certain cancers including testicular cancer, small-cell lung cancer, acute myeloid leukaemia (blood cancer), lymphatic system tumours (Hodgkin's lymphoma, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma), and ovarian cancer in adults. Inform your doctor if you are currently undergoing or have previously received radiotherapy or chemotherapy. Report any infections or low blood protein levels (albumin) to your doctor. Posid 100mg Injection should not be administered if you have recently received yellow fever vaccination or any live vaccines. Before commencing treatment, inform your physician of any history of kidney problems or liver disorders. Both women and men must use effective birth control during treatment and for at least 6 months after the final dose. Men should avoid fathering a child during treatment and up to 6 months after completion. Discuss fertility concerns with your doctor prior to treatment. Administration of Posid 100mg Injection may reduce blood cell levels and increase infection risk. Your doctor may arrange regular blood tests to monitor kidney and liver function. Safety in children has not been established.

Uses

How it works

Posid 100mg works by inhibiting the activity of topoisomerase II (essential for cell replication) and DNA synthesis, which will prevent cancer cells from growing and multiplying, ultimately leading to cell death.

How to Use

Posid 100mg injection is administered as an intravenous infusion into the vein. If this injection is recommended for you, it will be given by a healthcare professional. Do not self-administrate. Your physician will choose the dosage and administration frequency based on the medical condition because it differs for each person.

Expert Tips

Discuss your fertility problem with the doctor since, in men, it is advised not to father a child during and after the 6 months of treatment. So it is advised to get suggestions about fertility concerns. Avoid planning for the pregnancy. If you experience any symptoms mentioned as a side effect, consult your doctor immediately. Notify your doctor immediately if you have undergone or are taking or planning any radiotherapy or chemotherapy. Inform your doctor immediately if you took any vaccines inducing yellow fever and live vaccine and other medications before starting with Posid 100mg because it might reduce the effectiveness of this medicine and may cause side effects. Inform your doctor if you have or had any history of heart disease, kidney problems, or liver problems.
