Product Introduction

Posid 50mg Capsule contains Etoposide, an anticancer medicine that belongs to the class of cytostatic agents. It is prescribed to treat various types of cancer, including testicular cancer, small-cell lung cancer, acute myeloid leukemia (a type of blood cancer), Hodgkin’s lymphoma, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and ovarian cancer in adults. Inform your doctor if you are undergoing or have previously received chemotherapy or radiotherapy. Also, let your healthcare provider know if you have any active infections or low blood protein (albumin) levels. Posid 50mg Capsule should not be used if you have recently received a yellow fever vaccine or any other live vaccine. Before beginning treatment, tell your doctor if you have a history of kidney disease or liver disorders, as these conditions may require close monitoring. Both men and women should use reliable contraception during treatment and for at least 6 months after the final dose. Men are also advised to avoid fathering a child during therapy and for up to 6 months afterward, and should discuss fertility preservation options with their doctor before starting treatment. Posid 50mg Capsule may lower blood cell counts, increasing the risk of infections. Your doctor may recommend regular blood tests to monitor blood cell levels as well as kidney and liver function throughout the treatment. The safety and effectiveness of this medicine in children have not been established.

Uses

Testicular cancer Small-cell lung cancer Acute myeloid leukemia (blood cancer) Hodgkin’s lymphoma and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma Ovarian cancer

How it works

Posid 50mg Capsule works by inhibiting the activity of topoisomerase II (essential for cell replication) and DNA synthesis, which will prevent cancer cells from growing and multiplying, ultimately leading to cell death.

How to Use

Posid 50mg capsule is taken on an empty stomach with a glass of water. Avoid chewing, breaking, or crushing it. Your physician will choose the dosage based on your medical condition because it differs for each person.

Side Effects

Expert Tips

Discuss your fertility problem with the doctor since, in men, it is advised not to father a child during and after the 6 months of treatment. So it is advised to get suggestions about fertility concerns. Avoid planning for the pregnancy. If you experience any symptoms mentioned as a side effect, consult your doctor immediately. Notify your doctor immediately if you have undergone or are taking or planning any radiotherapy or chemotherapy. Inform your doctor immediately if you took any vaccines inducing yellow fever and live vaccine and other medications before starting with Posid 50mg Capsule because it might reduce the effectiveness of this medicine and may cause side effects. Inform your doctor if you have or had any history of heart disease, kidney problems, or liver problems.
