Product Introduction
Potride 750mg Tablet contains Potassium Chloride as its active ingredient, which belongs to the class of medicines known as electrolyte replacement therapies. Electrolytes are essential minerals and salts present in body fluids that help maintain normal bodily functions. This medicine is primarily prescribed to treat and prevent low potassium levels in the blood (hypokalemia).
Do not take Potride 750mg Tablet if you are allergic to potassium chloride or any of the other ingredients in this medication. It should also be avoided if you have kidney failure, severe or persistent diarrhea, untreated Addison's disease, hypoaldosteronism, narrowing of the esophagus, stomach, or intestines (strictures), or medical conditions such as major trauma, burns, muscle damage, or metabolic complications following cancer treatment.
Avoid using this medicine if you have metabolic acidosis, impaired potassium excretion, high potassium levels in the blood (hyperkalemia), or hyperkalemic periodic paralysis. It should not be taken along with potassium-sparing diuretics such as spironolactone, triamterene, or amiloride. Since this tablet contains sucrose, people with certain sugar intolerance or digestion disorders should also avoid taking it. If any of these conditions apply to you, consult your doctor to discuss a safer and more suitable treatment option.
Before starting treatment with Potride 750mg Tablet, inform your doctor if you have undergone surgery involving your stomach or intestines, including procedures such as a colostomy, ileostomy, or urostomy. Also let your doctor know if you have any kidney, liver, or heart disease, or a history of stomach ulcers. Inform your healthcare provider if you are pregnant, planning to conceive, or breastfeeding. Additionally, discuss any digestive disorders such as constipation, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), bowel obstruction, colorectal cancer, acid reflux, diverticular disease, ulcers, or hemorrhoids. Your doctor will assess your medical history to determine whether this medicine is appropriate and safe for your condition.
