Product Introduction

Prazivac Tablet is an anthelmintic medication belonging to the pyrazinoisoquinoline derivatives class, containing the active ingredient Praziquantel. It is used to treat various parasitic infections caused by tapeworms, flukes, and schistosomes. Do not use this medication if you have a known allergy or sensitivity to Praziquantel or any components in the formulation. Patients with cysticercosis of the eye should avoid this medication, as it can cause severe eye damage during parasite destruction within the eye. If you are currently taking rifampicin, an antibiotic used for tuberculosis treatment, do not take Prazivac Tablet concurrently, as rifampicin can reduce Praziquantel levels in your body. Your physician may suggest alternative treatment options if these conditions or interactions apply to you. Inform your physician if you have any history of heart disease, including heart rhythm problems. This drug can affect the cardiovascular system, and close monitoring may be needed during treatment to minimise potential cardiac effects. For patients with liver problems, epilepsy, or neurocysticercosis, it is essential to inform your physician, as these conditions may require specialised treatment and monitoring. Prazivac Tablet is not recommended for breastfeeding women. Consult your physician if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Uses

Treatment of schistosoma infections.

How it works

Prazivac Tablet works by paralyzing and killing the parasitic worms. It disrupts the worms' cell membranes, causing them to become more permeable to calcium ions, which leads to muscle contraction and paralysis. This allows the body's immune system to clear the dead parasites from the body.

How to Use

ake the Prazivac Tablet as your physician advises. Do not crush, chew, or open the medicine. Your physician will decide the correct dosage and duration based on age, body weight, and disease condition. Only stop taking the tablet if your doctor advises you to stop.
