Product Introduction
Proglob 10gm Injection 100ml is an immunostimulant containing the active ingredient Human normal immunoglobulin, a class of immunoglobulin derivatives. It is used as replacement therapy for patients with primary immunodeficiency disorders (PIDs), in which the immune system cannot produce adequate antibodies to combat infections. The medication is also used to modulate the immune system in certain autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, helping to reduce excessive inflammation and suppress abnormal immune responses.
The drug is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity or allergy to human immunoglobulin or its components. Blood clot formation may occur during treatment with Proglob 10gm Injection 100ml; monitoring of blood viscosity and maintenance of adequate hydration are recommended. Patients with selective IgA deficiency carry a risk of developing antibodies against IgA. In such cases, normal human immunoglobulin should be used cautiously or avoided. Inform your physician if you have a history of IgA deficiency.
Following administration of Proglob 10gm Injection 100ml, temporary decrease in white blood cell concentration (neutropenia, or low neutrophil count) may occur and typically resolves spontaneously within a week. The drug is not recommended for children younger than 12 years, as effects of human immunoglobulin in this population are unknown.
Normal human immunoglobulin may interfere with the effectiveness of live attenuated vaccines. Live vaccines should be avoided for a certain period after receiving this drug. Overdose of Proglob 10gm Injection 100ml may lead to fluid overload, particularly in patients with pre-existing heart failure or compromised renal function, who should be carefully monitored during infusion.
Inform your doctor of any history of heart, thyroid, kidney, or liver disease. Your physician may prescribe a low dose and perform regular blood tests. Use of this medicine during pregnancy or breastfeeding should be discussed with your physician.
Uses
Primary immunodeficiency disease (PID) Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) Multifocal motor neuropathy
How it works
Proglob 10gm Injection 100ml works by restoring the immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies. It directly binds to the Fc fragment-specific receptors and acts against inflammatory mediators. It induces cell death in B and T cells, eventually reducing inflammation and the severity of infections. It functions by replenishing the antibodies that are lacking in order to combat infections and inflammation.
How to Use
Proglob 10gm Injection 100ml is usually administered through a vein (intravenously) by your physician in a hospital setting. It will be infused into your body gradually at first. After then, your doctor might progressively raise the infusion rate.Your physician will decide the correct dosage and duration based on age, body weight, blood viscosity and other disease conditions.
