Qualifol 150IU Injection

Qualifol 150IU Injection contains urofollitropin, an ovulation stimulator belonging to the gonadotropin class of medications. It is indicated for treating infertility in women who are not ovulating, including those with polycystic ovarian disease who have not responded to clomiphene citrate. It is used to stimulate multiple follicles and promote fertility in women undergoing IVF or other assisted conception procedures. It is also indicated for treating infertility in men with low sperm count.

Do not take Qualifol 150IU Injection if you are allergic to urofollitropin or any other ingredient in this medicine. Do not use this medicine if you have a tumour in the pituitary gland (the gland at the base of the brain that produces certain hormones, including growth hormone) or in the hypothalamus (the area beneath the thalamus that regulates body conditions including temperature and blood pressure) or in the uterus, ovaries, breast, testicles, or prostate gland.

Before starting treatment, you will be evaluated for underactive thyroid problems, hormone levels, and tumours of the pituitary and hypothalamus. Do not take Qualifol 150IU Injection if you have ovarian cysts unrelated to PCOD, vaginal bleeding, early menopause, physical problems in the reproductive organs, if your uterus has been removed, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Inform your physician immediately if you experience abdominal pain and swelling, weight gain, diarrhoea, difficulty breathing, or decreased urination. Inform your physician if you have liver problems or a history of blood clotting disease before starting treatment with Qualifol 150IU Injection.

Qualifol 150IU Injection is used in the treatment of the following: Infertility in women

In the absence of sufficient endogenous luteinising hormone (LH), Qualifol 150IU Injection bind to the follicle-stimulating hormone receptor (FSH), resulting in ovulation. It also attaches to the LH receptor, causing appropriate hormone release and treating infertility in women.

Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all drugs cause side effects, not everyone gets them. Serious side effects of Qualifol 150IU Injection are: Severe allergic reactions (hypersensitivity reactions) Common side effects of Qualifol 150IU Injection are: Abdominal pain or swelling Headache Nausea Pelvic pain Overstimulation of ovaries Pain or inflammation at the injection site Mood swings

Inform your doctor if you miss any dosing appointment and reschedule it as soon as possible. This injection may increase the risk of ectopic pregnancy, especially if you have a history of fallopian tube disease. The risk may also be higher in women with previous miscarriages. It can increase the chances of multiple pregnancies, such as twins or triplets. There may be a higher risk of birth defects in the baby. Your doctor will monitor your treatment through regular ultrasound scans. Blood tests may also be done to check how your body is responding to the injection.
