Product Introduction
Rantac 150mg tablet contains ranitidine as the active ingredient. It belongs to the H2 receptor antagonist class of medications. This medication is used to treat heartburn, indigestion, and acid indigestion, and reduces the amount of acid produced by the stomach. It is indicated for treating and preventing stomach ulcers and duodenal (small intestine) ulcers.
Before starting treatment with this medication, inform your doctor if you are over 65 years of age. Do not use Rantac 150mg tablet if you are allergic to ranitidine or any other ingredients in the formulation. Notify your doctor if you have liver or kidney conditions. Before beginning treatment, inform your doctor if you have diabetes, immune system problems, acute porphyria, or a history of stomach ulcer or duodenal ulcer.
Common side effects of Rantac 150mg tablet include nausea, headache, stomach pain, and constipation. This medication contains castor oil, which may cause stomach upset and diarrhoea. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
Uses
Rantac 150 tablet uses are Indigestion. Heartburn. Acid ingestion. It is used for treating Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Short-term treatment of active duodenal ulcer. Maintenance therapy for duodenal ulcer patients. Treatment of pathological hypersecretory conditions. Short-term treatment of active benign gastric ulcer. Maintenance therapy for gastric ulcer patients. Treatment of GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). Treatment of erosive esophagitis.
How it works
Rantac 150mg tablet reduces stomach acid production by blocking the action of histamine, a substance that triggers acid secretion in the stomach. This relieves symptoms caused by excess stomach acid, like heartburn and acid indigestion.
How to Use
Take the Rantac 150mg tablet as your physician advises. Do not consume more than two tablets in 24 hours. Do not crush, chew, or open the medicine. Your physician will decide the correct Rantac 150 dosage and duration based on age, body weight, and disease condition. Only stop taking the tablet if your doctor advises you to stop.
