Product Introduction

Rantac 300mg tablet contains ranitidine as the active ingredient. It is an H2 receptor antagonist used to treat heartburn, indigestion, and acid indigestion by reducing the amount of acid produced by the stomach. The medication is used for treating and preventing stomach ulcers and duodenal ulcers.

Inform your doctor before starting treatment if you are aged 65 years or older. Do not use this medication if you are allergic to ranitidine or any other ingredients in the formulation. Notify your doctor if you have liver or kidney conditions. Inform your doctor before commencing treatment if you have diabetes, immune system problems, acute porphyria, or a history of stomach ulcer or duodenal ulcer.

Common side effects include nausea, headache, stomach pain, and constipation. This medication contains castor oil which may cause stomach upset and diarrhoea. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.

Uses

Indigestion. Heartburn. Acid ingestion. It is used for treating Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Short-term treatment of active duodenal ulcer. Maintenance therapy for duodenal ulcer patients. Treatment of pathological hypersecretory conditions. Short-term treatment of active benign gastric ulcer. Maintenance therapy for gastric ulcer patients. Treatment of GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). Treatment of erosive esophagitis.

How it works

Rantac 300mg tablet reduces stomach acid production by blocking the action of histamine, a substance that triggers acid secretion in the stomach. This relieves symptoms caused by excess stomach acid, like heartburn and acid indigestion.

How to Use

Take the Rantac 300mg tablet as your physician advises. Do not consume more than two tablets in 24 hours. Do not crush, chew, or open the medicine. Your physician will decide the correct dosage and duration based on age, body weight, and disease condition. Only stop taking the tablet if your doctor advises you to stop.

Side Effects

Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all medicines cause side effects, not everyone gets them.
