Product Introduction
Rantac MPS Syrup contains two active ingredients, Magaldrate and Dimethicone, which belong to the family of anti-ulcerants and antacids. It is used to treat acidity, indigestion, heartburn, and stomach upset. Magaldrate neutralises excess stomach acid, while Dimethicone reduces the surface tension of gas bubbles, making it easier to expel gas through burping or flatulence. Additionally, Dimethicone prevents the accumulation and formation of gas in the digestive system.
Rantac MPS Syrup should not be used if you are allergic to Magaldrate, Dimethicone, or any other ingredients in the medication. Before taking Rantac MPS Syrup, inform your doctor if you have kidney problems, intestinal bleeding, stomach ulcers, blockage in the stomach or intestines, Alzheimer's dementia, or a colostomy or ileostomy. It is advisable to avoid taking antacids containing aluminium and magnesium with Dimethicone and Magaldrate, as this may result in constipation and intestinal obstruction; magnesium-containing antacids could cause diarrhoea. Before taking the medicine, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or think you might be pregnant, or if you are breastfeeding. Notify your doctor if you are taking other medicines to avoid interaction and adverse effects. Do not exceed the recommended duration of use for this medication.
